Y625U System Upgrade via Micro SD card

Android system upgrade via micro SD card means upgrade Cell Phone SW/FW from a package which include SW/FW version compressed as a “update.App” file that stored in an external Micro SD card.

 System upgrade

1 Prepare

A Micro SD card. Size >= 8G and free space >= 4G is recommended.

Make a new folder with name “dload”.

Copy the upgrade  file to “dload” folder of Micro SD card，and make sure the upgrade file name is “update.App”.

Notes: Do not unzip the upgrade file.

Make sure your phone battery charge >= 60% and DO NOT remove battery while upgrading.

2 Upgrade

(1)       After the phone start up, click Settings form main menu

(2)       Click System update.

(3)       Click Local update.

(4)       please click OK button.

(5)       The phone will prompt for reboot. Click OK to operate System upgrade.

NOTES: It is highly recommended that you back up your personal files before upgrade, and DO NOT remove battery while upgrading.

(6)       The phone will reboot to Android recovery mode.

(7)      The system upgrade will take about 4 or 5 minutes to complete. After upgrading, the phone will reboot and start up automatically.

How to install :

1.  Prepare an SD card, bigger than 2 GB

2. (OPTIONAL STEP) Format SD card 

3. Create a new folder in the SD card, named "dload"

4. Copy the file "UPDATE.APP" into the dload folder

5. Put your SD card into the phone

6. Go to Settings>General>Updater

7.  In the page of the Updater tap on Menu(at the bottom of the screen) and now tap on "local update"

8. Now select UPDATE.APP that you see on the screen

YOU WILL SEE THE PROGRESS BAR AND AFTER THAT THIS IS COMPLETE THE PHONE WILL RESTART.

It's reccomended to perform a format after the update.

ROLLBACK FROM MARSHMALLOW 6.0 TO LOLLIPOP 5.0.2 :





-The rollback will erase all user data
-Ensure the battery level is greater than 30%





1- Extract the Rollbackpackage6.0-5.0.2
2- Copy the file named “UPDATE.APP” (of the Rollbackpackage) to the folder named “dload”
3- Power off the phone, and then press the Volume+, Volume-, and Power button at the same time, the phone will enter to the forced upgrade way. This step will bring your phone to the transition verison that is B300
4- Now take a 5.0.2 Official firmware end extract it.
5-Copy the file named “UPDATE.APP” (of the 5.0 firmware ) to the folder named “dload”, 
6- Repeat the step 2

How to Install


As far as this firmware’s compatibility is concerned, you can install it over a wide range of builds that carry C900 market number.


Download “PE-TL10_C900B334_Firmware….05012WEU.zip” from the aforementioned link and extract it.


Copy the extracted ‘dload’ folder to the top directory level of your phone’s external microSD card.


Disconnect the USB cable and open Updater app.


Tap menu > Local Update. Choose the full Update.app package and flash it.


Alternatively, simply reboot the device while holding Vol up + Vol down + Power simultaneously after the copying ‘dload’.

You must use a recovery updated for 4.3+ (with the EXT4 fix) to use this ROM otherwise you will encounter issues.

Where did the developer/performance options go?


Tap on the build number 5 times in "About phone".





Where did the recovery reboot option go?


It has to be enabled in developer options, "Advanced reboot".





Why did the boot animation change? Why did the Play Store disappear? Why does my phone not leave the boot animation?


A change Huawei made (for seemingly no reason) completely breaks 4.3+. It has been reverted in the kernel here, but recoveries may need updating too.

Upgrade Instructions

Official stock rom from huawei made flashable for FlashTool

MT6589 G700-U00 ONLY! Originally intended to use in Firmware Upgrade mode.

Use only supported FlashTool SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1320.0.174_Secboot

I unbricked my phone with it using first just Download mode (whithout D Da with Checksum mark) and flashing preloader only.

Then downloaded the whole rom in Download only mode, because PMT was corrupted.

Then installed CWM through Mobileuncle and flashed a Phillips custom ROM.

How to Upgrade

This update will only work on the Russian Honor 7 that’s already running the latest C10B120 Lollipop firmware.

3. After that unplug the USB cable and open the Updater app.
4. Go to menu > Local update, tap the update.zip package and confirm the installation.
5. Your device will automatically reboot into its stock recovery and start flashing the update.
6. In case you encounter an error, make sure the phone is running the required firmware and is not rooted.
